Seven Steps to Performance-Based Acquisition™ is a three-day course that
provides acquisition professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to plan, award, and manage contracts using the Statement of Objectives approach.
The Office of Federal Procurement Policy recently endorsed the Seven Steps to Performance-Based Services Acquisition guide as the
definitive source of performance-based acquisition guidance, policies, and best practices. Acquisition Solutions is the industry
partner that created and maintains the Seven Steps guide (available at www.acquisition.gov),
which serves as the foundation for this course. Our hands-on involvement in developing and maintaining the guide provides a perspective that
is unavailable from any other training source.
The Six Disciplines of Performance-Based Management™:
At the heart of performance-based contracting is managing for results. Contract award is only
the beginning of the process. Results are achieved through contract performance. This course focuses on the seventh step, Deliver Results
through Partnership, of our Seven Steps to Performance-Based Acquisition™ course. We teach participants how to manage performance
while staying focused on outcomes. Our course carries acquisition teaming into the 6 key disciplines of the post-award phase.
Fundamentals of Best Value/Trade-off Source Selection™:
A critical step in the acquisition process is selecting the right contractor. We teach through lecture, class discussions, case study analysis, and practice during individual and team exercises, the process to successfully complete a source selection in a performance-based acquisition using best-value, tradeoff analysis. Learn how the evaluation process in a performance-based acquisition differs compared to a traditional acquisition. Understand the key discriminators in performance-based buying. Develop documents to include hands-on drafting of a Source Selection Decision Document.

Strategic Business Advisor™
In today's complex business environment, all acquisition professionals must be well versed in the tools, techniques, and processes of acquisition. Acquisition Solutions' new two-day course focuses on the development and transition of contracting professionals to strategic business advisors. Students will develop an understanding of the importance of the strategic business advisor roles and responsibilities, learn techniques for the development of business acumen and interpersonal skills, and will be provided with industry insights on how to achieve greater mission results through acquisition.
The Power to Change Performance through Inner Quality Mananagement®:
Participants in the Power to Change Performance course learn to apply powerful management techniques to job stresses, strategic planning, customer service, meetings and communication, and personal interaction. We teach participants how to use the FreezeFramer® (developed by HeartMath)—an easy-to-use interactive software program that displays heart rhythms, shows how stress may be affecting the participant, and trains participants on how to achieve the positive effects of the Power to Change Performance program.
Federal agencies are relying more and more on the commercial market for the goods, services, and systems required to achieve stated goals. Market research is critical in leveraging the commercial market to achieve agency objectives. Acquisition Solutions developed this course to teach participants the tools and techniques necessary to perform effective market research. Our interactive hands-on training provides participants with the skills to develop and execute a comprehensive market research plan.

The Essential Elements of Earned-Value Management™
This course is designed to provide an understanding of the fundamentals of earned value management (EVM) as well as the skills necessary to be successful when implementing EVM. The course addresses the processes necessary for successfully implementing and using EVM. Government acquisition professionals will gain a thorough understanding of how establishing project scope and baselines relates to the important process of continuous contract performance monitoring.
