Overview
ASI Government and ASPE Training have partnered to bring you this exciting new course on contracting for Agile services. This course provides an introduction to Agile IT development, considerations, and best practices for contracting for Agile development services, specifically within Federal acquisition guidelines.Agile development takes a team approach and requires stakeholder involvement throughout the process. Professionals in contracting, program, and information technology offices will all benefit from attending this course. While this course focuses primarily on software development (IT) projects, Agile principles can be applied broadly wherever project management is required for rapidly changing environments.

Mission Centric COR Basics: 40-Hour FAC-COR Level II Certification Course
This class will include everything today’s COR needs to know and understand prior to accepting the attending responsibilities. This course includes eight modules of training, each of which is based on the Office of Federal Procurement Policy's (OFPP's) and Federal Acquisition Institute’s September 2011 FAC-COR Level II certification requirements. The text will focus on both business and technical knowledge and required competencies; some of the competencies are “soft skills,” which OFPP recognizes as essential for success. Each module contains course content, discussion questions, exercises, exhibits and references. During this course, students will participate in highly interactive discussions, exercises, and case study reviews. These activities combined will educate CORs to make sound business decisions, working closely with their Contracting Officers (COs) and contractors, to ensure mission results are achieved. Additionally, various forms, templates, and references materials have been combined into a COR Handbook and reference email, to be utilized during class and on the job.

This interactive, hands-on training workshop will teach participants the tools and techniques necessary to develop a Performance Work Statement (PWS) and a Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP). During this workshop, students will work in groups on the development of a PWS and QASP based on a case study. The course provides background information on the PWS and QASP, along with multiple exercises based on a case study. The main focus of this workshop is group work with hands-on activities and open class discussions. The participants will be provided with samples and reference materials, as well as a questions-and-answers session with the instructor, based on real situations the participants may have experienced.
- Discuss the policies and procedures governing the use of performance work statements (PWS).
- Describe the statement of objectives (SOO) approach to describing the requirement.
- Explain considerations for development of a PWS in response to a SOO.
- Use a systems approach called job analysis to develop the PWS.

Fundamentals of Best Value/Trade-off Source Selection™
This course gives acquisition professionals the knowledge and tools needed to successfully complete a source selection in a performance-based acquisition using best-value, tradeoff analysis. In addition to lecture and promoting class discussions to understand source selection theory, laws and regulations, this course is hands-on for students to get the practical individual and team experience needed in conducting GAO case study analysis, exercises, an actual proposal evaluation and making a best-value, tradeoff award decision. Students will also learn, understand and practice how the evaluation process differs in a PBA compared to traditional acquisition. Integrated Planning and Scheduling, Using Microsoft Project 2007
This workshop provides hands-on instruction in effective project management. Using Microsoft Project, students learn to develop a detailed and integrated schedule, analyze schedules prepared by a project team, and extract schedule information from working schedules for senior management briefings and reports. DAU’s Services Acquisition Workshop
ASI Government is the only authorized provider of DAU’s Services Acquisition Workshop (SAW). The SAW provides a just-in-time, intact-team training event, focused on providing training and tools for a specific acquisition team to assist them in developing and executing their requirement. SAW is presented at the earliest stage in the acquisition planning process, before the team has started developing their requirements package. The 4-day workshop is designed to guide a cross functional acquisition team, that is preparing to develop and execute a contracted service requirement, through the seven-step service acquisition process from step one, team formation to step seven, performance management following award of a contract. The SAW provides an overview of the seven steps sourcing process with detailed discussions on how to develop performance based requirements documents and business strategies using the Requirements Roadmap Worksheet.
- Recognize how to use the roadmap process to develop a performance work statement, quality assurance surveillance plan and section M of your RFP. You should also be able to use these for your contract incentive structure.

Government Acquisition Basics: Understanding and Applying the FAR™
The Federal Acquisition Regulation System (FAR) is the foundation of all procurement activities. It is what guides and aids acquisition personnel in procuring products and services on behalf of the government. Therefore, it is critical that any procuring official, or anyone involved in government acquisitions, know and understand how to use the FAR and stay compliant throughout the Acquisition Lifecycle. In this course, participants will get an overview of the Federal Acquisition Regulation System (FAR). This course will cover many areas of the FAR while focusing on specific areas that apply to major elements in the acquisition life cycle. This includes areas such as Acquisition Planning, Pre-Award and Post-Award activities, Contract Management, and various Clauses & Forms.
